New Jersey Association of School Librarians Retirees (NJASL-R)

NJASL-R is a subcommittee of Membership, and encourages as many School Library Media Specialists as possible to join in making this committee a successful component of NJASL for retired members and prospective retirees of the Profession. The Retirees Committee was created to:

  • Serve as a continuing link between former and current NJASL members
  • Help new retirees enter into this phase by having those who have "been there/done that" share their retirement experiences
  • Provide volunteer services, especially at annual conferences, to permit current NJASL members to attend meetings, workshops and other functions

The NJASL Retirees meet twice during the year as required by the NJASL By-Laws:

  • Our annual luncheon/meeting, held in late spring or early summer, we meet with colleagues who are in the process of retiring, newly retired and present retirees
  • During the Fall Conference the group’s meeting is at a reception or dinner

News and developments, and dates for our events will appear in NJASL's Bookmark and the Calendar on the website.

If you are close to retirement, please consider renewing your membership with NJASL, as a retiree.
