New Jersey Center for the Book
The New Jersey Center for the Book is one of 44 states affiliated with The Center for the Book in the Library of Congress. It is hosted by The School of Communication, Information and Library Studies at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey in New Brunswick, NJ, host it. Its mission is "to celebrate books, reading, libraries, and the diverse literary heritage of New Jersey."
The center's first projects will include the creation of a Web site and the development of a literary map of New Jersey.
The Center for the Book in the Library of Congress was established in 1977 to stimulate public interest in books, reading, and libraries. For information about its programs, publications, and the activities of its affiliated Centers for the Book in 44 states and the District of Columbia, visit the New Jersey Center for the Book Website.
