The College of New Jersey (TCNJ)

R. Barbara Gitenstein Library at The College of New Jersey (TCNJ) invites applications for a part-time (0.75 FTE, 25-27 hours/week), non-tenure-track position as a Reference and Instruction Librarian for the Fall 2025 semester, with appointment starting mid-August 2025 and concluding in late December 2025. The starting salary for this position is $52,784.72 annually.  Salary will be prorated based on the successful candidate's starting and end dates. 

The successful candidate will provide library services to multiple TCNJ departments in the humanities and social sciences. Services include liaison work to assigned departments, instruction and information literacy, collection development, and subject-specialized and general reference services. This position reports to the Interim Director of the Library. This is primarily an in-person position, with some limited potential for remote work hours. 

Required qualifications: ALA-accredited master's degree by the time of appointment and a broad knowledge of humanities and social sciences resources. Educational background and/or experience in a relevant discipline. Relevant experience may include but is not limited to academic libraries, teaching or research positions, etc. Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
