DEPARTMENT: Library and Tutoring Services, Academic Affairs Division

REPORTS TO: Director, Library and Tutoring Services

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Works closely with the Director of Library and Tutoring Services to manage the library and tutoring center.
  2. Assists with coordinating the planning, delivery, evaluation, and reporting related to the services provided by the library and tutoring services department.
  3. In the absence of the full-time administrative team, maintains the efficient operations of the library and tutoring center, including staffing, access services, building and equipment maintenance, and closing procedures.
  4. Assists patrons with library and tutoring inquiries, including creating accounts and scheduling in person and online help.
  5. Serves as a Reference Librarian as needed.
  6. Assists with maintaining and updating departmental operational resources and schedules ensuring timely communication and accurate reporting.
  7. Assists with departmental outreach initiatives as needed.
  8. Performs other duties as assigned.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master's degree in Library Science or Information Science from an institution accredited by the American Library Association
  • One (1) year of administrative or supervisory experience in a library
  • One (1) year of experience as a reference librarian
  • Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills
     

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience in an academic environment at a college or university
  • Working knowledge of academic tools and support services
  • Experience providing library instruction
  • Experience in working with a diverse student population


 SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION:
 

SCHEDULE: Up to 20 hours per week
 Monday to Friday, 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
with occasional Saturdays (online)
